External and LTI Tools

LTI stands for the Learning Tools Interoperability  standard, formulated by IMS. It’s the method by which outside tools are linked to Canvas for use in courses.

There are  many  LTI tools in use at USU. Listed below are the main ones that get used the most and have CIDI support and documentation.

More documentation on each of these tools can be found on the CIDI website, and specific tips relative to support will be added on an ongoing basis to this knowledge base. As a CIDI support agent or level 3 project developer, you should be familiar with the links/tutorials for each of the tools below.

Atomic Assessments  - Advanced interactive assessments with many additional math options.
Kaltura (MyMedia)  - Media management, hosting, and embedding.
Proctorio  - Virtual proctoring
Zoom  - Web conferencing
Turnitin  - Plagiarism checking
Ally  - Accessibility reporting and faculty help
TidyUp  - Canvas course clean-up tool
iClicker  - Classroom and mobile polling
Respondus  - Quiz import (not an LTI tool, but externally used for course development)
(Follow the link to the Box folder. More specific training is needed here to narrow down what needs to be known.)

More to come ...
