Onboarding Tasks

Welcome to your first day or two at CIDI! There is much to learn when getting started with CIDI support and projects. The following list gives a starting point: 
 
Set up Duo. This is dual authentication required for all USU employees to be used on USU’s login system. https://it.usu.edu/duo/  
Make sure you can login to your email account at https://outlook.usu.edu . User your A# and password.  
Set up an account on Slack.  
Go to https://slack.com/get-started#/create  and enter your A#@usu.edu email address. 
Then go to https://usu.slack.com  and login to join USU’s Slack instance. 
Let Neal know so that you can be added to the CIDI Slack channels. 
Go to https://elearn.usu.edu/canvas  to login to Canvas using your work-provided Canvas account.  
Add yourself to the Canvas and Accessibility Onboarding Course by going to this URL: https://usu.instructure.com/enroll/9BL9RE    
Complete the first four units of the Canvas and Accessibility Onboarding Course . This includes some of the steps you have already completed. Crucially, it involves completing FERPA training. You will also request access to tools like EZ Identity.  
Note: This course remains a work in progress and isn’t built out much beyond level 4. What is not in the remaining modules will be addressed through in-person trainings.  
Complete the Canvas Admin Prequisites and Request form  (Top of Unit 2 Overview in onboarding course.) 
Learn the Accessible Images Project steps  so you can begin working on that Level 1 project. 
Anticipating time with Level 2 projects, learn more about Canvas! Go through the Canvas Guides Crash Course  and practice in the Sandbox course that was created for you in your admin user account. 
Learn more about CIDI’s other tools. Spend time in the tutorials for our External and LTI tools  
Complete the Design Tools Training course that has been set up for you in your admin Canvas user account.
